About
Brazilian drummer and percussionist. I live and work in Portugal.
Salvador
I got my start in music at a very young age, taking part in a social project called Casa Do Sol in the city of Salvador, Bahia. It was my first contact with percussion, and I was immediately taken by the rhythm and the melody.
Determined to understand music from the inside rather than by ear alone, I took an extension course at the Federal University of Bahia, where I honed my technique and prepared for what came next.

Portugal
After a while I decided to move to Portugal, where my music and my work found their footing. Today I split my time between playing and teaching.
I teach children in social projects, schools and conservatories. It is the side of the work that gives back what Casa Do Sol gave me: someone who put an instrument in front of me and told me to try.

Stage
I perform in concerts and ceremonies across several countries, in front of different audiences and cultures. Every room asks for something else, and that is the exercise.
I work with four European percussion manufacturers. I test gear, report back on what survives real use and what does not, and represent the brands on stage.
